About Marco Odermatt

Marco Odermatt grew up in Buochs, in the canton of Nidwalden, surrounded by mountains, Lake Lucerne, and a family that put him on skis from the very beginning. What began as a passion at the Hergiswil ski club quickly developed into an extraordinary story: at 18, he became junior world champion; at 20, he had his first World Cup podiums; and in his early twenties, he began redefining alpine ski racing.

Olympic champion in giant slalom at the 2022 Beijing Games, three-time world champion, and five-time overall World Cup champion – Odermatt dominates multiple disciplines at the highest level, a feat unmatched in ski racing. With over 100 World Cup podium finishes, he is the most successful Swiss ski racer in history, and with his World Cup victories, he ranks among the greatest names in the sport.

What’s impressive isn’t just the sheer performance, but how he delivers it: focused, down-to-earth, and with a genuine fire for the sport. What particularly sets Odermatt apart is his consistency – week after week, season after season, he performs at the highest level without losing his modest, approachable nature. Even after his greatest triumphs, he remains the man from Buochs who pursues the sport out of genuine passion.
