Katharina Liensberger

Born on April 1, 1997, in Feldkirch, Katharina Liensberger grew up in Vorarlberg and stood on skis for the first time at just under three years old. What began as playful enthusiasm in the snow quickly turned into a passion: at six, she started racing through the Rankweil ski club, trained around the Ländle region, and later found her way into the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) via the Vorarlberg Ski Association.

Her school career took her from Volksschule Göfis and Bundesgymnasium Feldkirch to Skihauptschule Schruns, and finally five years at Skigymnasium Stams, where she graduated in 2016. Today she also works as a customs officer at the Federal Ministry of Finance (BMF).

Slalom and giant slalom are her signature disciplines – for Liensberger, ski racing is more than competition: nature, the feeling of safety on the slope, and her daily readiness to take on new challenges drive her. Her motto sums up this attitude: “Ski fast, do what you love, let dreams come true – and you’ll see that everything’s possible!”

When she’s not on the slopes, Katharina Liensberger enjoys hiking, playing tennis, water skiing, kitesurfing, or playing the harp. She is a member of the Rankweil ski club and part of the ÖSV women’s national alpine squad.
