About Jonas Deichmann

In 2017, Jonas set out to establish his first cycling world record by crossing the continents of Europe and Asia. He quit his job in software sales, where he had worked since earning his master’s degree in International Business Administration, and in the following years went on to set further world records across all major ultra-distance disciplines.

Then, in September 2020, Jonas embarked on his biggest adventure yet: a triathlon around the world. Once around the globe, in the triathlon disciplines of swimming, cycling, and running. Entirely on his own, Jonas Deichmann made the impossible possible: while the world remained in lockdown, he circled it in 14 months full of extreme challenges and moments of the greatest joy. Jonas swam across the Adriatic, battling treacherous currents and at times swimming in darkness, cycled 20,000 km from Dubrovnik to Vladivostok in bitter cold, and ran across Mexico in 120 marathons. He was accompanied by people who spontaneously joined him to become part of his adventure for a few kilometers. What emerged, in the end, is an incredible story of courage, motivation, and performance.
