Denise Schindler

At the age of two, Denise Schindler lost her right lower leg in an accident. At 18, she discovered cycling and pedaled her way to the very top of the world as a para-cyclist.

Denise’s extraordinary life story is meant to show what’s still possible despite all challenges that life brings. Thanks to a strong team, caring parents and friends, outstanding doctors, excellent medical technicians, and her incredible willpower, Denise Schindler can stand on «two» legs again. With courage, fighting spirit, perseverance, and a great deal of self-motivation, she has managed to overcome obstacles and live with her disability.

Her success proves her right: three times World Champion and four times Paralympic medalist. In addition, in 2017 she became the first woman with a leg prosthesis to successfully complete the Tour TransAlp.

Today, Denise passes on her experiences as an authentic keynote speaker. She is also happy to serve as a moderator for corporate and club events.

As an author, Denise Schindler tells her life story in the book «The Luck of Having Bad Luck: How to Grow from a Stroke of Fate». In it, she shares her 10 personal principles for resilience: acceptance, security, self-efficacy, self-confidence, passion, optimism, goals, failure as opportunity, empathy, love, and appreciation.
