PROF. DR. MELAN THURAIAPPAH
Melan is a lecturer in the JENEWEIN team. A sports-minded industrial engineer with a PhD in Organizational Behavior/Business Innovation, Melan understands how to connect the world of engineering with leadership issues.

Most recently, he conducted research at Stanford University in the USA in the field of artificial intelligence and published numerous scientific articles on the subject. As a PostDoc, he developed predictive models to inform decision makers in clinical settings and identify efficient team constellations.
During his doctoral studies, he focused on leadership coaching and explored innovative approaches to help individuals achieve goals and be more resilient as leaders and people. He also completed Co-Active Coaching training at the Co-Active Trainings Institute, an ICF accredited coach training program (ACTP).
Melan leads workshops and coaching sessions around the world with a focus on leadership, personal development, collaboration and innovation. He advises large corporations on coaching, leadership and culture with the intention to change them positively.
Melan gained work experience in development or in-house consulting at AUDI AG, Philips AG and Robert Bosch GmbH, among others.
During his academic career, he has worked at RWTH Aachen University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Universidad de Barcelona, University of St. Gallen and Stanford University. Overall, he gained work, research and intercultural experience in Brazil, China, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland and the USA.
